Shannon Carr, M.A

Shannon Carr, M.A. – graduated from Clark Atlanta University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She later earned her Master’s Degree from Argosy University, with a focus in Community Counseling. After 8yrs of teaching in the Chicago public school system, Shannon developed a deeper desire for knowledge and understanding about not only young people but all people and the struggles they may face.
Her career change into psychology and private practice comes from a desire for knowledge and understanding especially about the impact of trauma and hardship on children and others. Shannon also mentors young people through a non-profit organization and has volunteered her time for many years with her church, providing support for women impacted by Domestic Violence.
In her leisure time she enjoys writing poetry, trying new restaurants, and laughter (comedy shows, silliness from family & friends, etc.)
