Michael Bonifacio, RN, BSN – is a registered nurse specializing in critical care and is licensed in the states of Illinois and Indiana. He has been a practicing nurse for 22 years and has worked in various hospitals in the city and suburbs. He was born in the Philippines and moved to Chicago in 1994, where he pursued his education and career in healthcare. He is now pursuing further professional education for a Master’s degree to obtain the PMHNP designation (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) which includes the authority to prescribe, and will graduate in the spring of 2023.
 
Michael’s experiences treating patients from various socioeconomic backgrounds, combined with his lived experience as an immigrant and person of color, opened his eyes to the lack of mental health services for these communities. In his spare time, Michael loves to cook, travel extensively, and practice Aikido.
