Andy Needling, M.A., LPC
Andy is a 5th year doctoral student in clinical psychology at Adler University in Chicago. He obtained his master’s degree in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois. He also obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. His previous clinical experience over the past 20 years includes inpatient psychiatric treatment, residential treatment, outpatient private practice, and community mental health with children, adolescents, adults, couples, older adults and people with developmental disabilities. He has treated a range of clinical issues including mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, substance abuse disorders, and trauma. Andy’s clinical interests include mood disorders, family dynamics, domestic violence treatment with victims and perpetrators, and shame. He is open to working with anyone, from children to older adults. His therapeutic approach is integrative of psychodynamic perspectives, mindfulness approaches, and family systems. In his free time, Andy loves to play dungeons and dragons and other board and role-playing games. Now that Game of Thrones is over, he’s turned to The Expanse, Lovecraft Country, and Raised by Wolves.
